Kyle and several colleagues from the Ontario Cerebral Palsy Sports Association (OCPSA) had the privilege of helping launch the first-ever Boccia Championships within the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB), with the East Division competing on day one and the West Division on day two.

Witnessing the excitement, enthusiasm, and engagement from the students, teachers/coaches, educational assistants, volunteers, and occupational therapists was incredibly rewarding for everyone involved.

Introducing boccia into schools is something that means a great deal to Kyle personally. Seeing students now have the opportunity to participate in an inclusive school sport—an opportunity that was not available to him growing up—is truly inspiring and represents a significant step forward for accessibility and inclusion in school athletics.

For Kyle, this is about far more than competition. It is about creating opportunities, building confidence, and ensuring every student has the chance to belong, participate, and succeed through sport.
