Kyle's initial two full days of training with Boccia Canada at the INS Québec—the national training centre—were truly memorable. It presented an outstanding opportunity to connect with his high-performance director, coach, and teammates. Beyond acquiring new techniques and strategies, they focused on building trust, understanding one another, and engaging in activities that made the experience both productive and enjoyable.
Many express feeling honored or blessed to train in an environment shared by numerous high-performance Olympic and Paralympic athletes. For Kyle, this sentiment runs even deeper. It is a genuine privilege to enter this facility each day, knowing it is where we challenge ourselves, hone our skills, and prepare to compete against the world’s elite.
INS Québec is dedicated to excellence. With its world-class facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and advanced technical and technological resources, it provides everything high-performance athletes and coaches need to grow and succeed. Situated in the heart of Montréal’s Olympic Park, the Institut national du sport du Québec Complexe offers an environment optimized for peak performance, ensuring Canadian athletes can compete on an international level playing field.
The INS Québec Complexe hosts ten resident sports—boccia, fencing, gymnastics, judo, swimming, synchronized swimming, diving, water polo, and short-track speed skating—making it a dynamic hub for athletic development. Covering more than 150,000 square feet, with 92% dedicated directly to sport and athlete support, the facility is specifically designed for training at the highest level.
Located within the historic Olympic Park, INS Québec draws inspiration from decades of sporting excellence. Short-track speed skaters train at Maurice-Richard Arena, aquatic athletes at the Olympic Park Sports Centre, and athletes from various disciplines come here to pursue their aspirations.
This location carries a legacy: in 1976, the world witnessed extraordinary performances unfold here—moments that continue to resonate today. It is where the Canadian Olympic movement gained momentum, and now, it is where athletes like us continue to write the next chapter!
